Holidays Are So Much More
Fun when You Lighten Up!

I had the opportunity to preview some of the chapters for Wendy Samuels’ new book, and while reading one of these poignant stories I identified with her character who was so very busy. I  realized how I feel so much overwhelm during the holiday season. As the only woman left in our family, I have really high expectations of what I can accomplish to make the kind of Christmas I want my family to experience – shopping, wrapping, decorating, house cleaning, making grocery lists and shopping, cooking, getting the guest room ready for Tolen’s Dad. Quite frankly, this is more than I can do while I’m in self-healing mode. I find that my body is really tense, and that seems to express itself in lots of impatience and shortness. Do you have the same experience?

Tapping to Lighten Up

The Universe is so very funny. First thing this morning I received Brad Yates’ Tap O’ the Week email. The tapping (needleless acupuncture) routine he shared was called, “Let there be light.” It was an amazing routine about lightening up! Since I have had the pleasure of working with Brad many  years ago on Tapping for the Rainforests, I have no hesitation in sharing his amazing work with my friends and family online. I went through the routine as soon as I opened the email, and I really feel more relaxed and less serious about Christmas. After all, what’s the worst thing that could happen – people get their gifts without wrappings and make their own dinner? Now, imagining that actually had me smiling. Hmm…. So, as you go through preparing for your holiday gatherings, consider your options – listen to your inner critic and beat your holiday into perfection or lighten up and let the holiday happen naturally.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
